I own and wear quite a few watches, both quartz and mechanical and a little over two years ago, was attracted to and purchased a Nordgreen 36mm, white Native.
In a typical Skandinavian way, the watch exuded a simplistic post Bauhaus appeal
that differed greatly from any of my other watches which I found uniquely attractive.
In this design, I've found the 36mm size perfect as the watch's real estate is almost entirely dial, with the thin bezel occupying very little space. The impression, especially with the bright whiteness of the dial, is a considerably
larger watch than it measures.
Let me say one remarkable thing. Despite the really reasonable price, the watch has gained perhaps five seconds in two years!
As has been said, it is appropriate for businesswear, formal occasions and jeans.
The overall impression, whether glancing at the watch or studying it in detail, is one of calmness and serenity. Yet its purposeful design is one of utmost precision. Its Danish design and super efficient manufacture in the PRC assures,
(rest assured) superb quality.
My only minor gripe is the caseback which is somewhat rounded with a slightly raised battery compartment which rather than allowing the watch to lay flat on the wrist. makes it appear to almost float OVER the wrist, tus adding some height. Even there though, is an upside. In hotter weather, there is cooling airspace, which makes it even more comfortable and weightless.
Again, despite its low price, its accuracy, its flawless appearance and obvious quality of construction make the Nordgreen Native a tasteful, absolute bargain.
It is a joy!
